Wednesday Morning Group has been growing and evolving since its inception in 1962. See below to view our policies and other items which reflect our mission of offering engaging speakers within a warm community atmosphere.

WMG & Cedar Lane Church Policies

• Treat all members, guests, speakers, and church employees with respect.
• WMG follows the MCPS schedule, and we cancel during school closures and delays. We are open during Professional days.
• Follow traffic pattern in upper parking lot by circling to the right/counter-clockwise. Spaces are tight so please park mindfully.
• WMG and Cedar Lane Church are green, so consider bringing your own re-usable mug. Also, all paper plates, cups, and cutlery used during snack time are compostable, so please put all trash in the compostable bin. 
• Food is allowed in the auditorium, and please remove your trash after the lecture.
• Check in at the greeter desk before each lecture to get your nametag button, and return your button after each lecture.
• If you arrive after the lecture has begun, please sit in the back to minimize disruption.
• Please silence your phone and smartwatch during the lectures. Please refrain from knitting, talking, or texting during the talk.
• During Q&A, please limit yourself to one brief question.
• Guests are allowed and they may come 2x per semester. Each guest must sign up at the greeter desk.

WMG Membership Roles & Communications

• Each member is asked to volunteer 2x per semester (4x per year) by bringing a snack; working the greeter desk; and/or writing a speaker recap.
• Our speakers come from the wide network of our members, and we encourage all members to nominate interesting people they know.
• The Chair will email weekly announcements before each lecture which will indicate the upcoming speaker and other timely information.
• WMG has a Listserv for members (and past members) to network about community questions and recommendations regarding vendors, doctors, contractors, etc. To join the Listserv, send request email to WMGMembershipTeam1@gmail.com.
