Wednesday Morning Group has been growing and evolving since its inception in 1962. See below to view our policies, roles, and communications which reflect our mission of offering engaging speakers within a warm community atmosphere.

WMG & Cedar Lane Church Policies

• Treat all members, guests, speakers, and church employees with respect.
• WMG follows the MCPS calendar, and we cancel during school breaks, weather closures, and delays. We are open during Professional days.
• Drive slowly in parking lot (especially at crosswalk by building), and follow traffic pattern by circling to the right/counter clock-wise. Spaces are tight so please park mindfully.
• Check in at the greeter desk before each lecture to get your nametag button, and return your button after each lecture.
• WMG and Cedar Lane Church are green, so consider bringing your own re-usable mug.
• During snack, all paper plates, cups, and cutlery are compostable and should go in compostable bins with food waste. Plastics, foils, and paper wraps go in the trash bin.
• Food is allowed in the auditorium. Please remove your trash after the lecture.
• If you arrive after the lecture has begun, please sit in the back to minimize disruption.
• Please silence your phone and smartwatch during the lecture. Please refrain from talking or texting during the lecture and during Q&A.
• During Q&A, please keep questions brief.
• Guests are allowed and they may come 2x per semester. Each guest must sign in at the greeter desk.

WMG Membership Roles & Communications

• Each member is asked to volunteer 2x per semester (4x per year) by bringing a snack; working the greeter desk; and/or writing a speaker recap (in any combination).
• Our speakers come from the wide network of our members, and we encourage all members to nominate interesting people they know.
• The Chair emails weekly announcements which indicate the upcoming speaker and other timely information.
• WMG has a Listserv for members (and past members) to network about community topics. Members are not automatically enrolled in the Listserv, so if you want to join, send a request email to WMGMembershipTeam1@gmail.com.
• If you are interested in volunteering on the Board or a Committee, send an email to WMGChair@gmail.com to express your interest.
