Wednesday Morning Group
Wednesday Morning Group (WMG), a weekly lecture series, was founded in 1962 to provide engaging speakers for community members who craved intellectual stimulation and friendship. WMG is still going strong with that same mission. The diverse speakers talk about their interesting stories and/or expertise in science, health, history, culture, current events, and more. The lectures are thought-provoking and inspiring, offering the 200+ members a unique opportunity for learning and social engagement.
The group fosters friendships and community at every WMG meeting, plus special social events throughout the year. Some of our members have been involved for years, and some are new.
Everyone is welcome.

Wednesday Morning Group follows the MCPS calendar and meets on Wednesday mornings at 9:30am for snacks and from 10:00-11:00 for the speaker. Our calendar year goes from September to June.
Our amazing speakers are selected through membership nominations during bi-annual programming selection meetings. We do not accept pitches directly from potential speakers.
